  Cd Isle.ca is an online archive & store for recording artists living on Vancouver Island and surrounding islands (as well as on the Sunshine Coast).

It is a labour of love by island recording artists, Ric Lafontaine and Elly Parker.  Both strong supporters of island music. Ric co-founded the Nanaimo Songwriters Circle in 1991 and Island Showcase in 1998. Elly now organizes the showcase and co-hosts an island (only) music show on CHLY.FM radio.

Cd Isle offers a (non-exclusive) distribution service and resource directory to independent BC Island recording artists.

It's mandate, first and foremost, is to archive the historically rich and diverse musical  recordings from our islands in British Columbia. 

It is offered as a free service and is not based on 'how well a cd sells' or 'how popular it is' but rather 'is it or was it performed by an islander?'. A small fee is charged only  when a cd is sold.

Many countless hours are spent researching, cataloguing, and uploading the information to the site.

Many of the cds on Cd Isle are not yet available and in some cases may never be. Cd Isle has received many phone calls and emails from musicians and listeners saying that they appreciate the time and effort necessary for a project of this magnitude.

Cd Isle has been responsible for many musicians getting much needed exposure and visibility on the net, as well as, increasing the sales of their music.In some cases, Cd Isle acts as the website home of an artist with limited funds.

Our popularity and success continues to grow. 

Our goal is to present a complete history of Vancouver Island music and make it available to islanders and the global community. With your help we may be able to start a 24/7 island radio station. Island music, like its people, is alive and well in BC and must be celebrated !
